The Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) program provides professionals with the knowledge and skills to design effective and innovative learning solutions to instructional and performance problems. The IDT program focus includes: Technology-Based Learning Environments leveraging current and emerging Learning Technologies.

Globally, there are multiple universities that offer instructional design related degrees and offer an instructional design certificate. Currently, most institutions provide instructional design degrees at the graduate level (MS MA, MEd, PhD) only. Many of the programs can be completed entirely, or at lease partially online from a distance.

Instructional design and technology knowledge and skills are developed within courses, practicums and a design studio sequence. Your research interests are discussed upon enrollment. Be prepared to identify these in your application and throughout the program.

The Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Instructional Technology is a 36-semester hour program. This program is designed to prepare students for leadership in technology-related positions and develop the skills of practicing professionals.
